Objective
The objective of this is to create the art assets for the game called Unification wars
The Capital System
Collective Homeworld
The Dark System
The Sol system
The Eden System
The Farm System
The Rich system
The Heavy System
The Orion System
I did research on various competitors that the site has such as Astro Empires to see the look and feel of their planets in order to get a grasp of how I wanted to design and create the various systems for this game. I went ahead and played around with Photoshop for a bit to figure out the best method to create these planets. I ended up creating a texture or pattern and then used the Elliptical Marquee tool to create a perfect circle, then I sphereized it to create the shape of a planet, afterwards it's just shading to create depth.
For the background I created it in photoshop like all the other designs, this needed to be something special as this would be the background on every page of the game's website. so using the various skills from the other planets I created the background and added small little easter eggs into the piece. I used the site's previous colours to help form some nostalgia for the previous people who played the game.
I used Adobe Photoshop for all the art assets.
